I am happy to say that last week, I was notified that I had been selected for this years BIV News 40-under-40 awards!
Over the past week, I’ve oscillated between thankfulness, feeling deserving, and experiencing my own version of imposter syndrome, as I reflected on the journey of our group of companies and my growth within it.
In 2008, I cold-called the list of 2007 winners for 40-under-40. The only one who was at their desk at 0630AM PST was Mark Mensing, our current President. Our relationship started on the phone but has grown into the launch and co-ownership of a group of three companies in the metals, mining, and infrastructure industries.
In the span of 14 years, we’ve been able to build an array of competitive technology and services offerings, having delivered capital projects on all 6 habitable continents. I’ve been lucky enough to see the world, visiting and working in 42 countries since we started down this path. As an “industrial tourist”, I’ve been able to see and work with gold mines in the Amazon, and copper mines in central Africa. I consider this global perspective one of the greatest gifts our business has provided me.
Thank you to the teams at CEC Mining Systems Corporation, Canadian Critical Minerals Research, and AMIX Systems Ltd., who have supported our efforts and hair-brained schemes over the years! I consider myself lucky to be surrounded by a group of like-minded individuals who’ve built impressive resumes in their own right.

To the other 39 winners, I look forward to hearing about your story.
I greatly look forward to the next chapter of our growth. We’re not even close to have finished this project!
